Hi I'm Lauren
aka Dusty Boots
I started teaching Linedancing and Swing in 1996 after becoming a qualified “United Kingdom Alliance dance teacher” I also hold a City and Guilds London Institute Teacher Qualification which I obtained whilst working as a School Nurse. Although I loved being responsible for the health of young people Linedancing seemed to take over and took up so much of my time (it was boom time then) that I chose to go with the dancing (I had trained in dancing when I was young) So, after 11years of working as School Nurse I started to teach dancing. I also decided to donate the money I received from my monthly socials to “Research into Childrens Heart Defects” I gave £12,000 and this also provided a Heart Monitor for a local surgery. Although all I gave was my time it was the dancers who supported me regularly that made this possible. Apart from the 250 dancers that attended , many Choreographers used to come. In particular Robbie McGowan Hickie always attended. The dancers loved to see him. Also Andrew,Simon and Sheila were very supportive, they travelled a long way and it was greatly appreciated. It was an added bonus too for the dancers to meet their favourite choreographers. I now live in Benidorm, Although I miss all my friends in the UK, we do keep in touch regularly and many come out to the Costa Blanca and we always meet up for a chat and a dance. However I do love living in the Sun and I am still involved in Linedancing and have many good friends here as well as the UK.
